Best Galaxy Note Edge Screen Tips & Tricks

Hey guys, I have the brand new Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with me right now.
It's not yet released in India. Which gonna be released shortly.
It's already released in the west and the expected price range for this would be about
64 to 65 k here in India. Slightly more expensive than the note 4 but
mainly because it also has a kind of you know innovation called the edge screen around here
see the screen is curved. You must have already seen this during the
launch of the note 4 in the US. Now I was so entice by this edge screen.
When I started using this it really felt kind of awkward way.
Because it changed my usual and gonna mix up the whole thing up phone.
You know using a phone but now I just can't do without this screen.
I will show you in this video how. Because I decided to give you some quick tips
and tricks and demo and tutorial what every you call it of the edge screen around here.
So let's get started the first thing is to get started with the edge screen.
You do not even need to switch on the phone at all.
Just do back and forward swipe once and it's gonna wake up there you see.
The first thing it shows is see your time, date and temperature date and temperature
and then what ever notification you have. It's upwards you can also change the orientation
around here towards you ya. Sitting and you just gonna keep it on your
table. It will just show you those and because it's
an Amoled screen Led remember. So only those led where ever it supposed to
be lighted up only lighted and other led's are actually switched off.
Unlike an LCD where they actually I mean black color where it's not supposed to light up.
So an Led screen ends up consuming much much less electricity than an LCD screen.
So that's about what it is. You can also set this to show only this information
at a particular time you know. Let's say where ever you are sleeping or that
I am at night it just act as a back clock. So I will show you that settings.
Now, you can simply switch this off by tapping a power button once.
Let's go and wake up the phone. Now, as long as you are not inside any application
this screen and this screen are really separate. So now you can see you have all the quick
access icons out there ya. You can simply press any one to go to any
of those area. You do not have to actually go from the original
tool to back to the home screen and then press the icon and then go to that particular icon.
Straight away go from here. You can have a folder around here see.
And everything so you can just tab the start button there and then you can edit everything
that you want to have on this. For example, I wanna have flip board here
and I don't wanna have my gallery and also I don't wanna have this in my folder.
I can simply press the negative button ya. You can also go ahead and create a folder
around here. So it will just create a folder like drag
this to this. This to this if I wanna have similar kind

of apps in a folder. That's why I create a folder.
So once you are done with all this you can press done.
And they will appear here as you see ya. That's about the stuff.
Apart from the quick access buttons you also have this quick access tools.
So these five tools . Number one is a scale which I find most useful
because of this flat surface here you can actually use it as a scale.
Just place it and then do a measurement or draw a line because the scale is it's only
a centimeter but you get the idea. I love it.
And then your you see stop clocks and those kind of stuff and then you also have a Led
light turned on you see. You also have a straight access to the voice
recorder. You can start recording voice.
So those are some of the quick tools. Now you cannot edit those remember.
And then you also have the setting buttons here you can access this particular setting
button from the setting icon in the app drawer as well.
Let see once you go there you can read the help to understand what all of these does.
But we will start with manage panels. So whatever shown here you can manage there.
You see I have a lot of those panels around here.
So one is the icons and then see those and then my calendar, my step counts, and then
my S pen shortcuts and then yahoo finance and what not and cnn and everything.
So lot of some of those are by default present. Some of those you can download from around.
It will take you to all the panels that are available from third party.
There you see. You have All the third party panels are here.
You can go and download any of these these. And you can also choose not to display some
of those. For example let's say I won't show these and

then I can go here and you see you won't see those.
So only three panels now are there ya. That's quick way to manage your panels.
Express me is kind of a screen saver. Now you have this as a default.
You can also go ahead and create your own. You can take any image, let's say this one
or this one may be blue. This one and then there you just strip around
here ya. Choose this ya you can choose to rotate it.
And you can also effect this you know. I something like this you know.
You can do a lot of stuffs and then I got this strip.
I can save this strip there ya. So it will come this strip as my screen saver.
You can also hand write things on that strip. And also add text and affect to the screen.
So once you say done that screen appears here. Like I can select this screen for example
and it will come as screen saver there you see.
This screen comes as screen saver ya. Just to see that better what I am gonna do
is I am gonna go to the settings and choose this which is which I currently have basically.
So now if I go here you see that's my screen saver.
I like this like you know that bubble's coming out of that kind of thing.
So that's what express me is. It's a screen saver you can add it you can
customize it. Anything you want and you can also change
the text around here. If you see very closely it's written what
ever God does does for good. So by default it generally writes.
I think Samsung Galaxy Note Edge or something over there.
So edge screen text so here you can edit the text.
You can write. What ever you want that particular inspirational
quote that always you know propels you can write that here that is always in front of
you. And then you also have the information stream
see yahoo finance, ports and news you can edit those here.
And then that's what else I was talking about. About the night clock you can simply decide
an interval. See I have decided 24, 24 is like 12'O clock
at night till 7. So from 12'O clock till 7 it will automatically
become a text. It automatically start showing the time date
and the temperature here even if the phone is switched off.
And even doing it all night long it hardly takes any battery.
Because I told you the Led screen only those Led's are lit up.
Show at screen on the left now when you do this the screen can rotate at 180 degrees.
And you can show the edge screen on the left. Now I don't use it but if some of you want
your screen to rotate all around and you can have this still take advantage of the edge
screen. I am a right handed and this edge screen is
mainly geared towards right handed. You see around here.
So may be if you are left handed I mean I am not sure if you would like to use the phone
upside down. But at least it will give you some leverage
usually if you are a leftie. Because your edge screen is on the left around
there. But I don't know the edge screen is mainly
geared to the right hand because most of us are right handed may be.
So that's I think that's all about the settings and all about what the edge screen can do.
Now I am gonna show you what it does how it transforms how you use a particular tool.
The best use of this edge screen I found on the camera.
For example before what used to happen is your you know your shutter button used to
come here and all your manuals and all everything used to come here.
It used to kind of hamper the visibility. Now whenever you have a tool open.
If any controls are supposed to be there they will come on the edge screen.
You see now all controls are here. Leaving your main screen totally un-disturb.
You have you can utilize the full 5.6 inch screen.
You can clearly see whatz in there. And on top of that you can also use this button
as those hardware dedicated buttons of some of the phones like xperia for example.
Now it won't give you that tactile feed back of hardware button.
But still it's good enough there you see ya. You can go ahead and focus here and do this.
If you have always like those hardware button's on your phones then this kind of gives you
that lay out. Also you have the videos and modes and everything.
You can also have your shortcut keys around here.
So the main purpose of the edge screen with in an app is to take away the obstructions
from the main screen and put it on the side so that you can utilize the full 5.6 inch
screen. Here are the example now see I am gonna play
a video and typically when you start playing a video you will see the line here all menu
and you will have to press again. And it will go after some time.
So for that particular for those particular seconds you do not get a view of whole video.
Now that's important when you have sample video.
Let's say a one minute video or an add that you have made lets say 30 second add.
Because those strips there are for some seconds. You will lose some significant amount of time.
Now I play this. You see all the controls are on the edge screen
around here not obstructing here at all. So when I press play actually it's not obstructing
this one at all. You can utilize the whole 5.6 inch screen.
And I can see everything around here. And if I wanna press anything you can just
go ahead and do this thing or press pause and do some of the other things around here.
That's another example a great example of how the edge screen can actually help utilize
the main screen totally and giving you the extra information on the screen around here.
And also let's say if you are with in any app.
Let's say you are browsing something and you got a call.
It won't distract you with the call anywhere it will come here.
So here are the ringtones and you almost won't know where the ring tone came from at the
beginning. Because you are not used to at the biginging
but then you will start getting used to it. And you are doing something and you get your
ring tone you see here some one's calling drag it an then take the call.
It's that convenient. So the main purpose of the edge screen on
the galaxy note edge is do not disturb you. Do not disturb the main screen still showing
you all the notifications all the quick access thing.
All the right around here. So that you do not get disturb during your
